[b]REGIME PURSUES INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES Uladzimir Dzyavyatka, a candidate for the Bagdanovitskaya constituency city of Minsk from the coalition “New Generation", withdrew his candidacy for the elections because of pressure from the KGB to his mother.
The KGB tried to intimidate Uladzimir, prevented him from participating in the elections, called for preventive conversations to the leadership of BNTU, where the Youngfrontee studies.
That did not stop the guy, and then the descendants of the NKVD began to apply pressure on his parents. Uladzimir Dzyavyatka’s mother was visited at work by a KGB officer who intimidated her, telling about Uladzimir’s activities, threatened with expulsion her son from the university and for this reason, no longer receiving welfare benefits (pensions) to Uladzimir in connection with the death of his father. Taking care of the mother, whom the Youngfrontee helps with social pension, Uladzimir Dzyavyatka made a difficult decision not to continue his participation in the so-called elections.
Unfortunately, due to the repressive apparatus democratic candidates become with each passing day fewer and fewer.
