Nine youth organizations, among which there are "Young Front" and "Youth of BPF" and “Right Alliance”, formed a coalition "New Generation." At 12 leaders and representatives of organizations gathered in the Yanka Kupala Park. Police intently watched them doing. They warned that an attempt of the street action would be forced. In the yard of the houses of veterans there were two cars with riot policemen. The coalition "New Generation" included "Young Front", movement "Together", the youth of BCD, "Right Alliance", "Initiative", “Free Youth", "Youth of NPF”, ”Youth "People's Society” and “Young Democrats.
Leaders of the organizations have signed an agreement on the establishment the youth coalition "New Generation". They pointed out that they combine their efforts in the struggle for spiritual and national revival of Belarus on the foundation of Christian values, national idea, conservatism, the principles of social justice and the ideals of freedom.
Everyone waited for the leader of "Young Front" Dmitry Dashkevich. At first he did not answer calls, and then all phones have been disconnected.
His deputy Anastasia Palazhanka read out the text of the agreement on forming a coalition. After that, leaders of the organization made their signatures.
Anastasia said to the "Freedom":
"it consists of 9 subjects of youth political environment. Today, they will agree to work together, coordinate their actions and establish a new youth unit.”
Says the leader of the “Right Alliance” Yury Karetnikau:
"This coalition is not created against Belarusian independent block. It is the youth and has a slightly different format than the adult coalition. We do not set clear policy objectives, but public. Therefore, we are open to such structures that do not make political purposes, for various youth initiatives.
The main goal is to unite on common values, principles to achieve our common aims."
From "Youth of BPF" agreement was signed by Siargei Semianiuk:
"This is exactly the problem that all operate independently. Coalitions are more urgent than once during the electoral campaigns. The next year it will be two. Therefore, it is unforgivable when young people act separately and perform the same tasks. So the idea was that close-minded organizations can unite and work together. This is not a literal association, but it is a platform for joint decisions and actions. We must go on joint action."
Mikita Krasnou says (the coordinator of "Free Youth"):
"We gathered to honor the memory to Yanka Kupala, there were planned readings. But, unfortunately, the staff of the Minsk police have made us not hold the event. To form a coalition is a natural solution, as young people should be together. We should play a greater role in the processes that occur in society."
Leaders of youth organizations reported that the task of the coalition would be a joint participation in advocacy and mobilization campaigns to stand up for our voice in local, parliamentary and presidential elections. The subjects of the coalition will work together to hold campaigns for the independence of Belarus, the Belarusian language, as well as a campaign of solidarity with political prisoners and families of the missing.
On December 7 members of nine youth organizations of the "New Generation", will collect signatures for the rebuilding to studies Tatsyana Shaputska. The Press Secretary of Young Front was expelled from the University for participating in the meeting of the Forum of Civil Society of the Eastern Partnership countries.
The youth coalition can join other organizations that support the agreement and share the values of the coalition.
